Luca Malbec 2023

The Luca Old Vine Malbec 2023 is a vibrant expression of high-altitude Malbec from Argentina’s Uco Valley in Mendoza. The Luca project focuses on preserving historic Malbec vineyards and working with small family growers to highlight the character of old vines. Sourced from vineyards such as La Consulta and Gualtallary at elevations around 3,500 feet, the grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel before aging roughly a year in French oak barrels, creating a wine that balances richness with freshness. 

In the glass, the wine reveals intense aromas of black cherry, plum, and crushed berries layered with notes of cocoa, spice, and subtle floral tones. The palate is full-bodied yet refined, showing vibrant acidity, velvety tannins, and flavors of dark fruit, mocha, and espresso. Concentrated and polished, the 2023 vintage finishes long and expressive, capturing the elegance and depth that have made Luca one of Argentina’s most acclaimed Malbec producers.
