The 2018 Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo Monprivato is a benchmark expression of Nebbiolo from one of Barolo’s most revered single vineyards in Castiglione Falletto. It is highly aromatic, offering layered notes of red cherry, rose petal, orange peel, spice, and subtle earthy nuances. On the palate, the wine is refined and precise, with vibrant acidity and exceptionally fine, silky tannins that give it both elegance and drive. The style leans more toward finesse than power, yet it carries impressive depth and length. True to Mascarello’s traditional approach, oak is seamlessly integrated, allowing terroir and purity of fruit to shine. While beautiful with air now, the 2018 Monprivato has the structure to age gracefully for many years.
