A base of Cortese is the jumping off point for Ercole's new Vino Amaro. Employing only natural ingredients, botanicals are soaked in water and alcohol of various levels depending on the given plant, with maceration lasting between 20 and 30 days. These tinctures are then used to aromatize the still base wine; this blend is left at cold temperatures for 15 days, after which it is bottled. The resulting amaro is dry and bracing, with notes of gentian, rhubarb, cardamom and orange peel.
Teaming up with an historic, renowned distillery in Cuneo that dates back to 1888, the Ercole Amaro is part of a long legacy of Piemontese digestives, with its own special twist. Wine-based rather than spirit-based, our Amaro is infused with botanicals including gentian, rhubarb, quinine, cardamom, and orange peel for a classic flavor profile, yet it’s lower in alcohol and on the drier side. Elegant and refreshing as a digestif, it can complement anything from a spritz to a cocktail.
Crafted from carefully selected vineyards, this wine showcases a refined balance
of ripe fruit, elegant tannins, and subtle oak notes. Every bottle is produced
using traditional winemaking techniques to preserve the authentic character of
the grapes and the unique terroir of the region.
